Midtown Service Event – August 25, 2010

2010 August 20
by Keith Graber

We are excited to announce the first Service Event of the new Sertoma year.  We will be cleaning up Falls Park on Wednesday, August 25th, at 6 pm.  Meet at the Overlook Café (so park on the east side of the park). Wear your yellow race shirt.  No need for waders or that little dinosaur flotation device, because they don’t want us going in the river.

We’ve never done it before, but  suspect it will take about an hour, depending on how much help we have.  Spouses and guests  and kids are welcome! We’ll have garbage bags and protective gloves for you.  If you have other tools you like to use (like those sticks with a pointy end—technically known as those sticks with a pointy end), feel free to bring them along.

If you would, let me know if you plan to be there—could help with planning.

The Overlook Café has a dinner menu, in case you want to get there early and eat before we head out, or grab a snack after we’re done!

Service to mankind – It’s an important part of what we’re about.

See you Wednesday at the noon meeting…and later that night at Falls Park!

by Keith Graber

On Wednesday June 23rd, 2010, Midtown celebrated 25 years as a club!

Founding members shared stories from the past and their hopes and dreams for the future of Midtown.  It was fun to hear members reminisce about Midtowns beginnings.

Sertoma South Dakota Governor, Kirk Walters, installed the 2010 – 2011 Officer team.

Congratulates and Thank You to our new President, Rob Buxton, Vice President, Steve Roers, and returning officers Tim Stotz and Tiffany Brinks!

Be sure to see photos from the celebration in the Photo Galleries!
